Well we're off to a roaring start. All my thespian friends will be thrilled to know that it was on this date that we have the very first instance of an actor portraying a character onstage. The actor was named Thespis of Icaria. Which is a great shock to all of you, I know. By the way, this was in 534 B.C.
In 1863, Grant and his gang were finally established at Chattanooga, and were ready to go. So they're starting to move against Bragg and the Confederates. It won't end well for the rebels.
Hey, remember the other day when Tarawa was invaded? We talked about it in the context of the book "Battle Cry" by Leon Uris- or I guess it would be vice-versa. Anyhow, the entire Tarawa atoll is pretty much secured on this date. USA, USA!
I have a couple friends who are likely wetting themselves over the knowledge that it was on this date in 1963 that the very first episode of Doctor Who was aired on the Beeb. I wish I cared that much, but I don't.
Wow. Short and sweet. Hope you enjoyed it!
