Remember how Nat Turner was found guilty of inciting a slave rebellion a few days ago? Remember how I predicted that he would quickly meet his end? Guess what.... today's the day! RIP to somebody with more guts than brains.
Also leaving us today, Soren Kierkegaard. He pretty much created the philosophy of Existentialism, and he didn't give any credit to Camus. Probably because he was long dead before the latter came along. S.K. might have created an entire school of thought, but I found him somewhat dull and tedious.
Aussies will remember the infamous Ned Kelly. Was he a kind of Robin Hood character, or just a murderer? As is so often the case, it depends who you ask. In the end, the government of Australia made the determination it was the latter, and hung him. So that more or less settled that.
Another interesting death today was Mary Mallon. She was also known as "Typhoid Mary". I'll give you three guesses what she died of. Got it yet? Good, because I'm bored with this game.
Two faced terrorist assh*** Yasser Arafat went to Hell today. He spent a lot of time telling people in the West about how he and his fellow terrorists wanted peace with Israel. Then he'd go back to wherever he was living (nobody could stand to have him in their country for long), and tell his followers that it wasn't true, and they could still kill Jews and fight to destroy Israel. It's more or less Taqqiya, which means lying about your religious beliefs, in order to gain an advantage. He was good at it, which is why some ignorant people today still think positive thoughts about him.
Oh, and speaking of terrorists, filmmaker Moustapha Akkad died today. He was killed in Jordan by a suicide bomber. Ironically, he had spent his life making films trying to show Islam as more than just a religion of terrorists. Yeah. How'd that work out for him?
And on that note, we're gone.
