It's a big day for many important people. Like me! In 1805, the US Congress organizes a new territory, the first step towards statehood. The territory is called "Michigan". I predict someday it'll be the most awesome state in the country!

In 1964, there's some big health news. The US Surgeon General, a chap named Dr. Luther Terry, issues a report claiming that cigarette smoking is bad for one's health. How he came to that conclusion is unknown- I mean really, lighting leaves on fire and then inhaling the smoke into your lungs? What could go wrong with that?

And that's really about it.
