Happy May 21 birthday!

We start off with Lucien Bonaparte (or Buonaparte), born in 1775.  He was the younger brother of You Know Who.  He apparently once pointed a sword at big bro, and swore to run him through if he betrayed the principles of the Revolution.  He did, and Lucien of course didn't.  Probably wanted to at times, but that's not the point.  He became the Minister of the Interior, and probably wrote a pamphlet which wasn't overly kind to Big Bro.  He tried to flee to America, but was captured by the British Navy.  Big Bro thought it was intentional, and they were on the outs again.  At any rate, he lived a while, and ultimately died.  The end.

In 1917 Raymond Burr was born.  He's best known as Perry Mason, and later Ironside on TV.  It turns out that many of his stories of childhood and pre-acting feats are made up.  Perhaps he was 1/32 Cherokee for all we know, though there's no evidence that he claimed that.  He could have, though.  Apparently his rather creative autobiography was not questioned during his lifetime.

In music news, 1948 gave us Leo Sayer.  So lift a long tall glass to him, especially if he makes you feel like dancing.

I PITY THE FOOL WHO DON'T GIVE MR. T A BIRTHDAY GIFT TODAY.  But you better fly out to visit him, because he ain't gettin' on no aeroplane.  He's 60 today.  Always seemed like a relatively decent chap, though I could be mistaken there.

Stan Lynch of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is 57 today.  Seems like he should be older.  Man, I remember when "Damn the Torpedoes" was IT.  By the way, he's the drummer.  At least he was then, and is still listed that way.

Judge Reinhold is 55 today.  I guess he's still working, but he'll never top his roles in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" or "Stripes".  Maybe even "Ruthless People".

And the hot little Lisa Edelstein, formerly of "House, M.D." has a birthday today.  Eh, whatever.

Andrew Miller is 27 today.  Once upon a time, he was The Next Big Thing in the Detroit Tigers rotation.  And then they traded him, and he was The Next Mediocre Thing for somebody else.  Guess he's still playing, but I'm not sure where, and I don't care enough to look him up.

And on those last two, rather lame and uninteresting persons, we'll have to end.  Hopefully the folks who died today will be more exciting!
