Birthdays for November 28

Well if you're into ignorant rich people who support their friend while said friend talks about how horrible rich people are, then you're either George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, or today's birthday boy Friedrich Engels.  The incredibly funny Richard Armour wrote about how Marx and Engels had a long and touching correspondence, much of it centered upon Marx asking Engels when he was gonna be given more money.  Which really does sound a bit like Soros and his ilk.

Do you see people dancin' in the streets outside Berry Gordy Jr's house?  Well it's his birthday, so he's gonna have a party.  He can do that.  He's best known for producing the coolest film ever "The Last Dragon", withe the coolest hero ever, Bruce Leroy.  It's a cheesefest, but still pretty fun.  Oh, and he also produced some music or something.  And he's originally from Detroit, so he's got those coolness points going on.

Do you ever wonder about the meaning of the term "hubris"?  If so, here's a textbook example.  You're a well-known politician, running for president.  People accuse you of adultery.  You deny it, and challenge them to follow you around and see if you commit adultery.  Somebody actually does it (presumably without prior arrangement, which might have violated the Terms and Conditions).  And guess what? They catch you on a yacht called "Monkey Business" with a hot blond who isn't your wife sitting on your lap.  Said blond has also been spotted leaving your house early in the morning when wifey isn't there.  End of presidential aspirations.  Yup.  There's a terrific example of "hubris".  Or perhaps it's simply "stupidity".

Yowza!  Remember the funny show "Herman's Head"?  Or the equally funny (yet less successful) "The Famous Teddy Z"?  Or how about a funny AND successful show called "Friends"?  What do they all have in common?  A gorgeous blond named Jane Sibbitt.  And she's having a birthday today.  Be still my heart!

Speaking of almost gorgeous when not stoned or inflated with silicone blonds, happy birthday also to the late Anna Nicole Smith.  She was actually kinda hot at times.  At other times, not so much.  She died in 2007 in Hollywood Florida at the Hard Rock Hotel.  Ironically, I heard the news while getting off an airplane in the Palm Beach airport, and was at the HR Resort a few days later.  Her young daughter was the source of controversy over who was the father... Was it her boyfriend?  Her ex-husband?  Her lawyer/boyfriend?  Or one of the other guys who (allegedly) had relationships with her?  In the end, it was the boyfriend.  Talk about anti-climactic.

And speaking of anti-climactic, that's the end of this section.  With a whimper, not a bang (insert Anna Nicole Smith joke here)
