In famous composer news, Carl Maria von Weber was born on this date in 1786. I've heard the name. Nothing that I've read rings a bell as far as his compositions. Sorry. Plus, he has a girlie name.
Here's another music name, this time in the conductor category: Eugene Ormandy. I bet that at some point, he conducted some Carl Maria von Weber. But I don't know what it might have been. So Weber still kinda sucks. Oh, he was born in 1899.
In the actress category, we have Brenda Vaccaro, born in 1939. 1942 saw both Linda Evans and Susan Sullivan emerge onto the scene, but presumably in different hospitals.
Switching to the male side, Jameson Parker was born on this date in 1947. "Who the heck is he", I hear you cry. Well, he was in the show Simon & Simon, with Gerald McRaney. Want to know the worst thing about that factoid? I thought he was the guy who played Frank Hardy, opposite Shawn Cassidy's Joe Hardy in "The Hardy Boys Mysteries". Thank God I looked a bit further, trying to see what else he'd done, or I probably would have stuck with that. Oh, and to answer the question of what else he's done, I'm sticking with "nothing of interest".
Some people will be thrilled to know that Kirk Hammett of Metallica has a birthday today. At least I assume as much. But I'm not one of them. So there you are.
Uh oh. Big trouble brewing in the 1970 birthday list: Which blond born on this day in 1970 is hotter: Megyn Kelly, or Peta Wilson? That's a toughie. I think they should probably just put on some lingerie and mud wrestle to decide. Of course, that assumes neither of them has put on significant amounts of weight or added tattoos since I last saw them. So maybe they should each do a private audition for me first. Contact me care of this blog, ladies.
And with that vision burned into my mind, I hereby announce an end to this installment of happy birthday. Oh, except for warmest greetings to Preston and Natalie, two of my friends who were both born on this date. They're both pretty cool, so you should celebrate their birthdays too!
