December 3 RIP

RIP Diocletian, Roman emperor.  Once he got the throne, he was a reformer, which is pretty much the only reason anyone remembers him.

Also, Robert Louis Stevenson died on this date in 1894.  He wrote Treasure Island, among other stuff.

Elizabeth Glaser left us on this date in 1994.  She was married to Paul Michael Glaser of Starsky & Hutch fame.  Alas, she contracted AIDS, and spent her last years working to defeat AIDS and also to make it less of a stigma for the victims.  Did she succeed?  You decide.

The über-funny Madeline Kahn died on this date in 1999.  She was a better actor than she gets credit for, and also a better singer than one would think if only hearing her sing as Lili von Shtupp in Blazing Saddles.

And on that note, we end.  See you tomorrow, or perhaps Monday, since I could be busy all day.  We'll see.
