RIPping on Devember 19

Ever heard of the Bering Strait?  It died on this date!  Just kidding.  It's still alive, but Vitus Bering is not.  He worked for the Russians, and discovered Alaska and the Aleutian Islands.  And passed his name on to the Strait, the Sea, the Island and the Land Bridge.  And then died in 1741, probably because there were just to many other Berings around.

If you're into 19th century chick-lit, then you'll want to mourn the death of Emily Bronte, who died in 1848.  I'm not, so I won't.  But all the other writing Brontes were probably sad.

In 1996, Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni died.  He was well- known over there, but I don't believe I ever saw anything he did.

And in the ding dong the vicious, delusional, crazy dictator is dead, department, you'll no doubt be glad to know that world famous psycho Kim Jong-Il has joined his father in Hell.  I guess it was today, since Korea is on the other side of the Date Line.  Doesn't matter, as long as we're rid of him it's a good day.
